The Wave

The current weather front pounding the coast of NSW reminds me of the year the World Surfing championships were held at Balmoral Beach, Mosman inside Middle Harbour, Sydney as the surge of the waves was too large for safety if held outside. Last week the Manly Ferry stopped running from Circular Quay to Manly as the waves were 11 metres high, or 36 feet. The power of the sea to pound this old Continent has meant we need to be careful living too close to the edge...............

An image of The Wave is available in the Private Collection segment of my website
