A wet blanket

We are all taught at School that wool is one of those fabulous materials that can absorb liquid to 80% of its weight without feeling wet to the touch.

" A wet blanket' was made with that knowledge in mind and made me giggle that the double entendre would only be understood by Australians...............

In 2000 'A wet blanket' was accepted for inclusion in 'Expressions 2000' at the National Wool Museum, Geelong Victoria

In 2015 The National Wool Museum with Ozquilt Network Inc are calling for entries to the combined exhibition and applications can be found at www.ozquiltnetwork.org.au

A wet blanket is in a private collection and can be seen in my website Collections Gallery

Interesting thought trigger, Alison. A wet blanket - water + wool - installation for Art Quilt Australia, perhaps?

Margery,

It was made for an early Wool Museum call for works and exhibited. A commission is underway using wool clothes which could be ready for Geelong!
Hope you are well

Cheers
